Engineer

We are looking for a dynamic Quality Assurance Tester to join our team and grow with the firm. The individual should be a critical thinker, an independent contributor and proven creative problem solver. You have to be a self-starter with a “get-it-done” attitude. An effective team collaborator, strong communicator with the ability & willingness to learn new software platforms are all crucial qualities to succeed in this role.

Quality Assurance Tester will be responsible for initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing testing activities related to complex applications and system implementation projects using Agile processes. This individual is passionate about creating the best customer experience across our digital platforms. You will work closely with other team members in the creation of test scenarios, development and execution of test cases, analysis of test results, detection and documentation of defects, and validation of bug fixes.

  • Review requirements specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases.
  • Work with team to develop a comprehensive repository.
  • Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools.
  • Heavily participates in manual testing during development, post development, and product launch.
  • Execute test specifications and test cases. Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
  • Perform integrity and regression testing using a combination of manual and automated techniques.
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs. Write and track bug reports as problems are found and corrected.
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities. Participate in periodic release activities.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve the QA process.
  • Work with Engineering and Product teams to identify high-impact issues.
  • 3 - 6 years of experience writing automated tests using automation frameworks and tools, such as Selenium, or Appium.
  • Experience in mobile testing preferred.
  • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Strong knowledge of performance and/or security testing.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills; ability to understand complex systems and design tests around integration and interface points.
  • Strong knowledge of general QA procedures and methodologies, as well as software development fundamentals.
  • Good knowledge of PhantomJS or Capybara.
  • Basic knowledge of PHP, Ruby or JavaScript; or the ability to learn them quickly.
  • Basic knowledge of MongoDB.
  • Strong knowledge of Cloud computing architectures and security implementations.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/NGINX configuration & administration.
  • Ability to use open source security tool to identify vulnerabilities, flaws and possible hacks..
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Highly detail-oriented with quality driven deliverables in documents, reports and sheets.
  • Strong communication skills via email, Skype, and Whats app.
  • Strong organizational skills and use of tools like Github, Jira, Confluence, Trello, Google Drive, and attention to details.
  • Strong ability to estimate efforts and working along with product and project management. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly changing atmosphere.
  • Commitment to quality and a positive, collaborative attitude and approach to testing.
  • Extremely self-motivated; able to identify opportunities for improvement, and tackle them without external direction.
